Drs. Eric and Alyssa Phillips: I didn't Marry the Business

We hope you enjoy this next episode as we interview Drs. Eric and Alyssa Phillips who just opened their first chiropractic practice together almost 1 month ago in Overland Park, Ks. They have been married for 2 ½ years and it was great catching up with this fun couple, as we knew them throughout Chiropractic school. Listen as Eric and Alyssa give their advice on starting a new business and how in both work and marriage you have to learn not to compete and truly work as a team. As new business owners they are focusing a lot on weekly goals and re-assessing those at the end of each week to better accomplish what needs to be done to grow. Alyssa has a background in office management roles, which allows Eric to focus more on marketing and a social media presence. Ultimately having goals that are in line with each other, being caring and honest towards their patients, and enjoying the little victories are all great takeaways from this couple’s interview.

Listen all the way to the end to hear Eric and Alyssa flip the role and ask us a question about balance in marriage and business!

Dr. Ryan and Cassidy Bones: Anything Together

Listen as we interview Ryan and Cassidy bones, a newly married couple that own and operate Beyond Bones Chiropractic in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Not only are they newly weds, but also the practice has only been operating since April 2016. Ryan talks about how it was easy for him to get people in the doors, but running the behind the scene systems was difficult. Cassidy, having a history in real estate and being able to think more analytically came in and “saved the day” as Ryan would say. In the same month they were married, they faced a big hurdle in the office, but their motto “anything together” means they are going to face whatever they need and experience whatever life throws their way while handling anything together.

Throughout the year they have “seasons of insanity” where planners and apps like “To Do List” help keep Ryan and Cassidy organized. They are also good at distinguishing boundaries from home and work; Cassidy reminds us “no business in the bedroom and no serious subjects after 10 pm!” This fun loving young couple cherishes any time they can spend together with friends and family and know how important it is to re-charge in both business and marriage.

Drs. Eric and Andrea Nazarenko: Making your business yourself!

Listen as we interview Drs. Eric and Andrea Nazarenko. Eric is a Doctor of Chiropractic and Andrea is a community Psychologist; together they are both owners of Old Mill Chiropractic and Wellness in South Carolina and founders of an online movement called “Treehouse Living!”

Hear how they took values that were most important to them and their family and brought them into their vision of building a business together. Dr. Andrea discusses how “right to left” thinking works best for her when keeping an end goal in mind, and how important it is for them to “schedule nothing just as much as you schedule something” to keep balance in marriage and business. As both business owners and parents, optimizing small periods of time to get tasks done is very important. Unplugged playtime is playtime, and digging deep when business is business is what works for these two Docs and their family. The importance of engaging in intellectual learning together as a couple is crucial for Eric and Andrea. We hope you enjoy as we get to listen to how they have handled stressful situations with the business as well as the daily struggles, like getting kids to school on time!

Drs. Stuart and Theresa Warner are a husband-and-wife chiropractic team who have revolutionized the chiropractic world by teaching chiropractors to attract the child as the first patient in the family to receive care. Guided by their passion for helping children achieve their full God-given potential, the Warners have created a unique model for building child-centered practices.
The Warners were known as “pediatric chiropractors” before there were pediatric chiropractors. They have been coaching and training fellow chiropractors for the past 2 decades, teaching them all aspects of pediatric practice procedures, clinical and adjusting protocol to improve their pediatric technique.  What they are most known for is their innovative marketing strategies, promotions and special events designed to propel them to become leaders in their communities and advocates for children's health and wellness.
Drs. Theresa an Stuart Warner are media spokespersons for the chiropractic profession. They regular appear on national and international TV and radio shows to educate and advance chiropractic care for newborns and kids.  The Warners have created a movement to propel chiropractors to a leadership position in children’s health and wellness throughout the world.  Their plan to accomplish this vision is by getting the truth out through the media, and as a result see millions more children getting adjusted.
Some of Drs. Theresa and Stuart Warner in the media over the past year:
1. December 2016, The Doctors TV Show:
2. November 2016,  Inside Edition
3. Chiropractic and Kids YouTube clip over 100,000 views a month
4.  Drs. Theresa and Stuart Warner’s practice’s Facebook page patient reviews
They founded Chiropractic Pediatrics 24/7 the largest Facebook community in the profession for chiropractors that want to help kids with 4000 members.
Through their Chiropractic Pediatrics 365 and  “Chiropractic Pediatric University (CPU)” and “ChiroPediatrics to the Max” programs, the Warners were the first to bring comprehensive chiropractic coaching and management programs to the internet, helping chiropractors build extraordinary pediatric practices from the comforts of their own homes or offices.
In 1995, the pair founded the celebrity- and government-endorsed Kids Day America/International™, the biggest day ever for chiropractors helping children! Each year, this powerful event drives chiropractors to the forefront of their towns. The entire community gets involved donating to, promoting, and attending this free event that is dedicated to children’s health and safety and environmental awareness. The Warners provide sanctioned chiropractors with an abundance of power and influence by linking them to a worldwide event that brings together chiropractors and countless families from around the globe. To date, more than 2,500 chiropractors have participated, resulting in over 5 million children being screened for subluxation! As a result, hundreds of thousands of children have started under chiropractic care in those offices.
They are also re-launching The ChiroPediatric Times publication in January 2017 which will bring together the top contributors in the chiropractic profession to elevate the field of chiropractic pediatrics.
Drs. Warner also founded Wellness Moms America/International™chiropractic-led monthly meetings that bring together like-minded mothers to teach them how to live the chiropractic wellness lifestyle. In addition to educating mothers, these meetings also introduce participating chiropractors to an abundance of new families who are seeking higher levels of health and wellness for their families. This network is constantly expanding, as new chapters continue to be formed across the country and around the world.

Our take away video from the Drs. Warner interview

The master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he’s always doing both.”

Dr. Don McDonald

Dr Don has spent 18 years in the health and wellness industry as a chiropractor in Edmonton Alberta. It was from his position at the adjusting table that he noticed a common frustration developing into a major stressor in the lives of many patients.

He identified it as ‘the underdog curse’ and they couldn’t seem to break out of it.

It was a pattern he had seen in his own life - from the basketball days of his youth to life as a businessman and health practitioner. It stopped people from living their best lives, and often stripped them of true happiness. He made it his mission to find out how to break the underdog curse and move into authentic, lasting success.

Dr Don is now a life coach and motivational speaker who dedicates his time to empowering people with the new, inspiring information regarding success, and health. Dr Don has just released a podcast for Chiropractors called “Breaking the Underdog Curse”.

Our take away videos from the Dr. Don and Brandi MacDonald interview

When it comes to goal setting, is it better to focus on your 30 day, 90 day and 1 year goals or should you be putting your energy into the projects you are working on right now. Both are important obviously but sometimes energy spent working on figuring out that future goal should be put into the project you are working on right now!

Your marriage or relationship should be the foundation that everything else is built on.  If it is solid then everything else will be an expression of that.  We talk about how problems in your marriage will be amplified in your business or other aspects of your life.  It is important to not get stuck in arguments about minor things at work when there is something else actually at the root.  Always be looking for ways to improve your foundation and everything else will follow!
